“About listening quiet.”
Those words are probably the best way to describe how I enter most of my artwork although at times it may seem like a complete contradiction. Whether it is a slow and contemplative process, a spontaneous effort of create/destroy/recreate or product of a clear image that just comes to me. An underlying story does shine through, it is just a matter of stepping back and listening quiet.
As for medium, it is multidisciplinary. The process usually directs the final output, whether a photo, a painting, an installation, a sculpture, a projection, sound clip or handmade film. The idea directs the medium.
Subject matter? Perhaps autobiographical, but it is not that calculated. When all the variables come together, the goal is to lay down a breadcrumb trail where you can follow along and connect on a narrative.
